Accessibility Statement

Last updated October 14, 2026.

Roots & Wings is for every family and every child, including children and parents with disabilities and learning differences. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the site and app.

What we do

  • Use semantic structure, labelled form fields, and visible keyboard focus.
  • Keep text and controls at readable contrast, in both light and dark settings.
  • Support keyboard play in the learning games — arrow keys or WASD to move, and number keys to answer multiple-choice questions — with on-screen controls on touch devices.
  • Let you tell us about a child's learning differences so lessons can adapt.

Known limitations

Some learning games are fast-paced and visual, and may be hard to use with a screen reader. Every question in them also appears in your child's regular lessons, which don't have time limits. We're continuing to test with assistive technology and fix issues as we find them.

Tell us what isn't working

If anything on Roots & Wings is hard to use, please contact us with the page and what happened, and we'll work on a fix.
