These terms are an agreement between you and Roots & Wings ("we," "us") for using our website, apps, and services. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Roots & Wings

Accounts are for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or older, one account per household. Children use Roots & Wings only through a parent's account — for example in the Student Portal, which a parent turns on and protects with a PIN. You're responsible for your account, for keeping your password and PINs private, for supervising your children's use, and for the accuracy of the information you enter.

Plans, free trials, and automatic renewal

Family Connect is free. Paid plans are billed monthly: Life & Learning at $19.99/month and Complete Learning at $39.99/month, plus any applicable taxes.

Free trial. Paid plans start with a 30-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your plan automatically converts to a paid subscription and your card is charged the monthly price.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your card is charged at the start of each billing period, until you cancel. We'll tell you in advance if the price of your plan changes, and the new price applies only from your next billing period after that notice.

Cancelling. You can cancel anytime, online, from Settings → Manage or cancel plan — no need to call or email us. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your household moves to the free plan. Your data isn't deleted when you cancel — to delete it, use Settings → Delete account.

AI-generated content

Lessons, assessments, activities, recaps, and print content are generated with AI (see our Privacy Policy for what's shared to do that). AI can make mistakes. Treat generated content as a starting point: review it before relying on it, and use your own judgment about what's right for your child. Roots & Wings isn't a school, and it doesn't provide medical, therapeutic, or legal advice — including about your state's homeschool requirements, which you're responsible for confirming.

Your content

You own what you add — profiles, photos, documents, posts, and your children's work. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only as needed to run the service for you (including sending it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy), and to show Community posts you choose to share to other members. Only upload content you have the right to share.

Community conduct

Use Community respectfully and follow our Community Guidelines. Never post a child's personal information. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate them.

Print orders

Printed products are made to order by a third-party print partner and shipped to the address you provide. Orders can't be changed once submitted for printing; see the Refund Policy for damaged or defective items.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service — for example, by trying to access another household's data, disrupting the service, scraping it, or using it for anything unlawful.

Ending your account

You can delete your account anytime from Settings, which cancels any paid plan and permanently deletes your household's data. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why when we can.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We work hard to keep Roots & Wings accurate, available, and secure, but it's provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect, and may ask you to agree again. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
